Since /until /fromの使い方

since:「～以来」過去のある時点から今まで続いている場合に使う。
from: 「～から」始まりの場所や時点を表す。
until: 「～まで」ある時点で終了することを示す。
以下、当教室小学6年生のクラスの様子です。
今回は使い方が明確になるように、生徒さん自身や彼女の身の回りの人たちについて例文を作ってみました。

since: time started (not finished)
from: starting point
until: time finished

Emma has been playing the piano since she was 4 years old.(４歳からずっと）
Emma has been singing since she was 11 years old.
Mami took piano lessons until she was 18 years old.（４歳から１８歳まで）
Mami took piano lessons until she graduated from high school.
Mami took piano lessons until 12th grade.

I lived in Kyoto until I was 9 years old.
I lived in Kyoto until 4th grade.

My English class is until 8:50.
I have been studying English since 8:00.
I studied English from 8:00 until (/to) 8:50.

(お昼の１２時からずっとおなかが空いている。)
I have been hungry since 12:00.

(学校は8:30~3:30です。)
My school is until 3:30.
My school is from 8:30 until 3:30.
