Vocabulary: special names for certain kinds of money
money I get from working: salary, income (paycheck)
money I spend on cooking equipment and ingredients and other money I spend to run my business = business expenses
living expenses = water, food, clothes, gas, electricity…
gas company: “You used this much gas last month so please pay ¥X.”
= my gas bill
water company: “You used this much water last month so please pay ¥X.”
= my water bill
(water + gas + electricity + Wi-Fi = utility bills)
I also need to pay taxes to the government.
My parents need to pay my school tuition.
American university tuitions are higher than Japanese university tuitions.
Japanese university tuitions are not too high but not very low = Tuitions are affordable (reasonable).
Some American university tuitions are expensive/costly and many students have to take out a student loan (borrow money from the bank).
So, many students graduate with student debt (money they owe to the bank).
